Well a week has gone by and what a week it has been. Not only did I have a week off work I celebrated my 50th Birthday. I had a thoroughly lovely week which on a couple of days spent with my hubby, two boys and their partners.

This weeks challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge which has a theme of a wintry Birthday card - it must be a wintery looking card with a wintery image on it.

We are being sponsored by; My Mum's Craft Shop

I used a stamp from the Christmas range by Lili of the Valley, coloured with copics. I would never of thought of using this image other than for a Christmas card until I was given this challenge. Hopefully you agree that it works for a wintry Birthday Card.

Something new .....

Well its been such a long time since I have posted a new card. To put a stop to that here is one I made in the New Year :

I made it for this weeks challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenges which has a theme of something new. I not only followed the theme by making a card for a new baby but I also used a new digi image by Tiddly Inks.

As always Cupcake Craft Challenges have some fab sponsors this year. This week they are kindly being sponsored by Sew Sweet who has a prize of a £10 gift voucher and Squiggle Stamps who are offering a prize of 3 digital images.

I coloured the image with copics , machine stitched around the Daisy D paper, which I have had on my paper pile for absolutely yonks . The 19mm pale blue stripe twill is from the Ribbon Girl I ruffled it up and machine stitched and hand sew seed pearls onto it.

I hope everyone isn't too busy on the run up to Christmas and is finding some 'me' time to do a little crafting. This weeks challenge over at Cupcakes I would like peeps to make a project with lots and lots of bling, the shinier and sparklier the better :)

We are happy to say that we have two sponsors this week both offering great prizes. I was going to make a card with a fab saturated canary digi image but had a few technical problems this end which put a sto to it :( any way I hope you like the card I did make using a pre coloured image by Mo Manning. Over at Papertake weekly the theme is anything goes with an added option of adding something dangly. I made this card on a weekend away with some lovely ladies, using Molly Bloom and stamping Up stamps, holly leave punch and a star spellbinders. I hand cut a heart and sprinkled it with glitter and added it onto the wreath with button twine (from the Ribbon Girl) .
I used lots of Kraft and glossy accents to add sheen.

The idea of the wreath came from Molly Bloom creator Clare Rowlands.

DIY Make your own backing paper

For my card I used Hero Arts Big holiday Words stamp stamped with versa mark ink pad and sprinkled black embossing powder over it and after cutting it to size ans stitching around it placed a Molly Bloom image coloured with copics onto it.

Wow I cannot believe I havent posted on the old blog for a week.
Doesn't time fly when you are either busy at work or at home ? Definately not enough time to craft.
As its Monday its time for another challenge over at Cupcake Crafts. This week was chosen by the delectable Delphine. Over at Polka doodles the challenge is to make an age card. What good timing as I had just finished a card for a little boy who will soon be 5 years old.

I used a Lilli of the Valley image coloured with copics, added a glittery number 5 and finished it off with divine twine available from the Ribbon Girl.

something with wings......

Over at papertake weekly challenge blog they have asked for projects which have something with wings on.

This is my entry, a wedding anniversary card with butterflies.

The butterflies were stamped onto acetate then cut out,they have a bit of stickles added to their wings. The sentiment is by Melissa Francis and charm, seam binding and button twine are from the Ribbon Girl.

Art Journal lookey likey

Anyone who knows me well knows that I dont do '' getting your hands dirty'' and this new challenge over at Tiddly Inks had me get a bit of glimmer mist on my hands !! Joking aside have gander over at the Art Journal challenge (use mixed media to create an art journal feel to a card or project of any sort ) which is running for two weeks so you have plenty of time to join in.

This was so out of my depth and is a poor example to what the other DT members have created which are guaranteed to blow your socks away.

I made a card using one of the fab Lili of the Valley stamps.

I coloured her with copics and used patterened paper by Provo craft which I have had sitting on my shelf that seems to be for years as are the chipboard numbers and hole punch strengtheners.

Party games and prizes

As you know The Ribbon Girl is celebrating it's birthday during the whole of August and it would be a very dull party without a few party games - and party games need prizes!

This game will run until the evening of Saturday 13th August (UK time) and the winner will recieve 6 packets of small polka dot buttons in the colours of their choice. So what do you have to do? It's simple - just tell The Ribbon Girls how many buttons you think there are in the jar.

It was my choice of challenge this week over at Cupcake Challenges and those who know me I very rarely make a project without having any sewing on it so its no surprise that I want you to make a project that includes some sewing whether it is real or faux :)

I stamped Toadstool Retreat by Tatty Button onto watercolour paper and coloured it with distress inks and layered it on top of cardboard painted witth distress paint , fence by Magnolia and patterened paper by Raspberry road, all topped off with button twine from The Ribbon Girl The round sentiment is magical mini seals.

Well it certainly isnt warm enough here on the east coast of the uk for strawberries to be growing, it is freezing, I hope the weather is being kind to you where ever you are.

Here is a tag I made for this weeks challenge over at Tiddly Inks challenge blog. Christy would like to see a large tag or ticket of some sort... I suppose this is a biggish tag ??

I used Minnies berry from Tiddly Inks coloured with copics. I added glossy accents to mimic glass lenses in her glasses. The strawberry has a little diamond dust added. The papers are digi by Raspberry road and the ticket is by Tim Holtz. The lace and button twine are from the Ribbon Girl.

I am going to enter this into Paper Sundaes challenge #79 Beachy or Summer. Strawberries to me are Summer :)

All sparkly and shabby

This week over at Cupcake challenges we are being sponsored by; Sassy Studio Designs They are generously offering the winner four images of their choice. What do you have to do ? well make a project which is shabby and sparkly.

I made this wall hanger for my craft room. tis lovely and sparkly although the photos dont really show just how sparkly it is .

I used Magnolia images, stamped onto Kraft cardstock and pained with distress inks. The large image I added lots of layers of Utee and cracked it, layered it onto some Magnolia patterned paper and machine stitched around the edge. I then added a generous spray of glimmer mist. I hand cut both of the large and smaller heart and painted them with Distress crackle paint , I also added a layer to the corregated card. I added lots of stickles to most of the images and flowers as well as the butterflies I stamped onto acetate. I cannot remember what manufacturer made the round stamp.

I have been taking things slowly the past week due to various of reasons and think that my mojo has disappeared with my energy levels !! Never mind DH has bought me a big bottle of original lucozade, thats bound to give me a zap of energy , well it used to when I was a little girl many moons ago :)

I made this card using a digi image from Tiddly Inks and am going to enter it into Papertake weekly challenge , Getting Cute and ABC challenge which is Y for yesterday, I chose to follow the challenge on 6th April R is for Ribbon.

I never seem to be up to date as to what challenge blogs there out there, I am sure I am the only one as lots of people seem to enter lots of challenges.

Over at Tiddly Inks this weeks challenge is to create a card inspired by a Scary or Summer movie.

Although I am an avid fan of Horror movies I chose the Summer theme. Here is my card,

can you guess the movie I was inspired by ? No? well let me tell you it is High School Musical.

I used Annie Does Splits which can be found in Tiddly Inks basement ( a true bargain).

I made a little skirt from Ribbon and pom poms out of wool. I used Prismacolour pencils to colour Annie and paper by October Afternoon.

I love Molly Bloom stamps and was happy when I found a new challenge
The Paperlane challenge . I was excited to see that the prize are stamps that I do not own......

The challenge for this month is "Anything BUT Square" with Molly Blooms Stamps as the main image.

I made a tent card (a first for me) using 4 Molly Bloom stamps. Beach huts on the inside of the card, Banners, deck chair and little Molly. I dusted off my distress inks to colour the images. I added micro beads to mimic sand. I added a little fish bead to the button twine at the top of the card.

A stitch in time...

If there is something that I always make sure I include on my cards is machine stitching. I have tried to go without but never feel that my card is finished if i do. Any way this week over at Paper Sundaes and
Simon Says their challenge is asking for stitching , real or faux. So I made this card and am entering it into these challenges. As you will see there is plenty of machine stitching.

A card I made for a collegue who is shortly turning 30. Whilst we want to acknowledge her age I am sure she wont so I made a card (think its called a wiper card) where the number 30 is hidden until you pull the corners. I used a Tiddly Ink digi image called Happy Bugg which can be found Here. I coloured the bugg with copics and added a little sparkle.

I used a shaped card from Which Craft. As you can see I mounted the astronaut onto a strip of acetate to make him look as though he is floating in space. I couloured the digi images (soory I cannot remember who they ar eby, I seem to have lost them on my computer)in with copics and added glossy accents to his visor to make it look like glass.

Edited to add....I have been informed by one of my teamies the the images are Lilyboo designs over on www.cuddlybuddly.com.

A quick card using kraft cardstock, maching stitiching, ribbon twine ( from the Ribbon Girl), beads and a rub on. I saw the templete for the onesie on the web somewhere (sorry I have no idea where) resized it,printed it out onto cardstock, cut it out and covered it in yummy glitter.
